“Better than expected”

  , Bridgewater
I was pleasantly surprised by my off season stay at this budget hotel. I booked it based on the fact that I had 2 dogs with me, but didn't expect much. Well. I was really surprised once I entered the room. Room 318 was much larger than your typical hotel room, with a huge wall to wall picture window overlooking the autumn colors. It had a small, maybe 2x2 window, that actually opened to let fresh air in at night. The room was clean, oder free, looked freshly painted/papered, and had relatively new sink, tub, and faucets. No mold, nor hair, with all drains running perfectly. Everytime I turned the hot water on, it was instantly hot - no waiting for it to warm up - with great water pressure and plenty of towels. The grounds were really nice with plenty of grass to walk the dogs away from streets and traffic, and plenty of garbage cans around for easy disposal. The area was also well lit up at night. The room had a small refrigerator and small safe, and I was able to use the microwave in their lobby. The drawbacks were no coffee pot in the room but they always had coffee and drinks in the lobby. Only soap and a shampoo were provided. The rack to hang clothes was directly over the microwave, so even a short jacket blocked access. And the alarm clock didn't work. The exterior looks like a typical 1950's motel, but it appeared to be well kept and clean. For the price, and the fact that they allowed dogs, I would definitely stay here again. I could easily deal with the few negatives since there were so many great positives. And the ladies at the front desk were always friendly, courteous, and helpful.
