“Drive past it, do not stay here”

  , Wysox, Pennsylvania
Shabby rooms, not clean, poor responsiveness. Main complaint was safety,(the room had two back windows with trees on a slope facing a parking lot) two windows had broken locks and could not be locked, (none of the windows were locked when we arrived) after requesting a remote control (more so we wouldn't be accused of taking it when we left), I was told there were none, that "the housekeeping sometimes rolls them in bedding...and are found next day." So never made any further comments since didn't feel it would be received well. We were on the second floor, but even I could have climbed out the back window into the trees. Also were never told that the room we rented had two bedrooms, I don't usually check the connecting doors and imagine my surprise when I find another room with a bed (and an unlocked open window). One of the table lamps was hanging by the socket and so did not work...another safety issue. It just looked and felt like a place where no one cared. We paid $100 for one nite in a Travelodge that wasn't worth it. We've stayed in Travelodges before and were always satisfied with the conditions, service and amenities. I was tired, we had driven almost 6 hours and didn't look forward to trying to find another place to stay. what a mistake, the mattress on my side was broken and a metal arm protruded from the edge of the mattress, again not safe. Travelodge should be embarrassed big time by this place and if it's part of Wyndam why would I want a membership to their loyalty rewards program. This is the first negative review I've written, just regret I cannot give it a zero.
