“Rough on the Edges, but worth the Trip!”

  , Hamilton
The outside of the building is a little rough to look at, but inside was awesome! There were 5 of us staying in the room (3 adults and 2 children) and we had plenty of space! Stayed in the Sleeping Bear Den and there were two tvs, a pull out couch, a double and two twins, a mini bar fridge, and a microwave, small desk, table with coffee and cups, mini chair for the little ones and chair and ottoman for the adults. The bedding for the twins was more geared to children and wasn't 100% new, but the protective lavers for the mattresses on all beds were. The room was spotless. And I mean, I even checked the grout! The biggest issues was the first night too many bugs came in.. however, we checked in late and the lights are likely to have attracted them (since we didn't complain and didn't have any other problems with them). The sink in the bathroom is on a smaller counter, however, there is a massive closet with dual sliding doors and full length mirrors. The coffee maker is a keurig and only came with three coffees, however they were awesome about giving out another. The staff was all very friendly and happy to answer any questions. There was a Humpty's next door with service that ranges as a 2.5-3.5/5 but the food was good. There is no pool at the Travelodge, but there is a *very* large splash pad just over the bridge about 3 minute walk away and in the shadow of the largest T-Rex. There is no breakfast offered at this hotel, although there is eating nearby. The parking lot is moderately-well lit at night although is not patrolled. however, some locations are visible from the night desk. Our room faced the highway although I do not recall a large amount of noise coming in from the road. Visually though, it would be nicer to over look the river with a grand view of the Badlands. Overall I would give the Travelodge a sold 9.2/10. The largest disappointment was not enough coffees for 3 adults to have 2 each and the older twin bed comforters although the rest in the room had been replaced. The second largest disappointment is that it appears a little run down on the outside, and does not have an elevator. There are two floors and the main floor is accessible from the ground without issue, so if you need that, be sure to specify. There are locations where the paint is chipping, however, if they are in the process of replacing bedding and upgrading/updating rooms, I doubt repainting is far behind.
